About this church
House of God Church of God in Christ is a Pentecostal congregation at 441 Jackson Street in Thomson. Its motto, “The Church Where Everybody Is Somebody,” accompanies worship that invites the Holy Spirit's direction and seeks salvation, deliverance, and freedom. The official website identifies Sunday-morning preaching and a Youth Sunday through photographs and captions but does not publish a dependable start time. Prospective visitors should telephone or use the contact form before planning arrival; the directory does not convert a pictured Sunday activity into an invented schedule.
Its published doctrine reflects Church of God in Christ convictions about biblical inspiration, one God in three persons, Christ's return, repentant faith, new birth through the Holy Spirit, and healing through Jesus' redemptive work. Its many auxiliaries include Sunday School, Bible Band, jail and nursing-home ministries, outreach, transportation, youth, women, men, music, choirs, prayer, hospitality, and media. Bishop Mark Walden founded the church in 1973 in a society hall on Dean Avenue. A first sanctuary opened in 1976, and the current Jackson Street sanctuary was dedicated in 1999. This history and breadth of ministry make the page useful even without an hour, but a newcomer still needs direct confirmation of Sunday School, worship, and weekday programs. The contact page supplies a Thomson telephone number, email address, and message form for that check.
