Grace United Methodist Church

About this church

Grace United Methodist Church begins Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and in-person worship at 10:30 in Carbondale. The service is recorded and posted to Facebook for people joining later from home. Pre-K through fifth-grade Sunday School meets in the youth wing, while grades eight through twelve also gather at 9:30 and explicitly welcome students who do not attend Grace—or any church. Children hear a dedicated message during worship that connects the week's Scripture readings with their own lives. The congregation participates in Safe Sanctuaries, the United Methodist framework for protecting children and vulnerable people.

Grace states its mission simply: love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. Prayer, Bible study, worship, and small groups are intended to develop relationships with God and one another. Available groups include praise and prayer, growth groups, and a Korean women's Bible study. The church also points people needing food, shelter, or other help toward practical Carbondale-area resources, including local pantries. For families, the education hour and worship service run consecutively; for adults, the church offers both larger worship and smaller relational settings. The recorded service provides an easy way to preview this Methodist community before attending.
