Westminster Presbyterian Church

About this church

Westminster Presbyterian Church worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Elgin, with a live online service and an archive of previous sermons. The congregation describes its gathering through Christ-centered expository preaching, joyful and reverent worship, and biblically grounded music. Students in grades six through twelve meet at 9:30 before the main service to study Scripture and the Westminster Standards. Nursery care serves ages zero through three with trained, background-checked volunteers, while children age four through third grade may join Children's Church during the sermon after beginning worship with their families.

The church's mission is to make mature disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, education, community, mercy, missions, and evangelism. Children's teaching emphasizes relationships with adults, age-appropriate understanding of the gospel, and stories of God's work through history. Mercy ministry partners short-term volunteers and resources with organizations pursuing longer-term material, social, and spiritual development. Global mission connections include church planting and ministry in the Czech Republic, Japan, Mexico, and other settings. For families, the linked youth hour, nursery screening, staged children's dismissal, livestream, and clear teaching emphasis make Westminster's complete Sunday pathway easy to evaluate.
