Christ Lutheran Church is a Normal congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod centered on the Divine Service, Christ’s gifts in Word and Sacrament, traditional hymnody, catechesis, and age-based Christian education. Its worship is intentionally liturgical rather than contemporary or blended, using historic forms to connect Scripture, preaching, prayer, Communion, and congregational song.

Divine Service is offered Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Sunday School and adult Bible class begin at 10:30 in the parish hall; classes serve pre-K through sixth grade there, while seventh grade through high school meets in the library. Weekend worship follows settings from Lutheran Service Book or The Lutheran Hymnal and may include vestments, responsive or chanted liturgy, elders and acolytes, traditional hymns, Scripture from the lectionary, Law-and-Gospel preaching, and the Lord’s Supper. Communion is celebrated at every weekend service. The parish asks first-time communicants to speak with a pastor or elder; baptized communicant members of the LCMS and churches in altar-and-pulpit fellowship may receive, while other visitors may approach with crossed arms for a blessing. An unstaffed calming room is available at the rear of the sanctuary.
