Trinity Lutheran Church

About this church

Trinity Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation in downtown Rockford, across from the City Market and a short walk from the Rock River. Sunday worship includes an 8:30 a.m. traditional service and a 10 a.m. family service; holidays may bring a combined service or adjusted times. Both gatherings use Lutheran liturgy, Gospel and other Scripture readings, contemporary preaching, and music. Organ selections and Lutheran hymns are central, with Chancel, Bell, and Children’s choirs adding to the church's musical life. Children also receive a dedicated sermon. Recent sermons are available through the congregation's Facebook page.

Trinity's mission connects gathering in worship, study, fellowship, and prayer with service in daily life. Cornucopia works with Northern Illinois Food Bank to feed neighbors, while Trinity House helps lower-income and unhoused families obtain affordable housing. Other service includes food baskets, basic-needs bags, global mission support, Lutheran World Relief kits and quilts, senior activities, youth programs, Sunday School for grades one through five, Confirmation, and Vacation Bible School. Trinity Day Care serves children from birth through age five and offers after-school care through fifth grade plus a summer program. The site does not publish visitor parking directions, accessibility features, service length, clothing norms, Communion guidance, nursery arrangements during worship, or hearing support.
