Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

About this church

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg holds Sunday School at 9 a.m. and traditional worship at 9:45. The service is available through Facebook livestream, with past worship on YouTube. Two entrances lead into the building, and an elevator or stairs connect both the main worship floor and lower-level Sunday School rooms. Coffee and treats are served after church every week. Communion is open to adults and children of any age, with wine or grape juice and wheat or gluten-free wafers; an usher can arrange delivery to someone unable to come forward.

Children age three through eighth grade attend Sunday School during the school year. Seventh through ninth grade adds instruction in Christian faith, service projects, and retreats, while the Emerge high-school group meets Sunday evenings. Children are always welcome in worship, with activity bags and bulletins available in the narthex. The congregation frames its mission around creative worship, inclusive Christ-centered fellowship, Bible study, prayer, community relationships, justice, and peace. Some services offer American Sign Language interpretation according to a dated annual schedule, so Deaf and hard-of-hearing guests should verify the next interpreted Sunday rather than assume every week includes it.
