Chapel of Praise

About this church

Chapel of Praise offers Believer’s Bible Class at 10 a.m. Sunday and worship at 11 at 15821 Greenwood Road in South Holland. Sunday worship combines Spirit-led praise, prayer, practical Bible teaching, fellowship, and children’s ministry. Virtual Solution Night meets at midnight Tuesday, while online intercessory prayer begins at 6 p.m. Thursday. Monthly gatherings include NextGen Upper Room at 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday and a midnight vigil on the last Friday.

The church grew from an apartment fellowship started in Chicago in 1993 to encourage Africans and friends from different backgrounds. It incorporated as Christ Healing Evangelical Church and expanded through a storefront and later facilities as participation grew. Chapel of Praise now emphasizes diversity, inclusion, authentic fellowship, discipleship, and helping people discover a God-given purpose in Christ. Ministries include groups for men and women, couples in their first decade of marriage, girls’ mentoring, NextGen, children, choir, worship, and technology. Children receive age-appropriate care during Sunday worship, and choir rehearsal is listed for 7:30 p.m. Friday. A newcomer can pair the 10 a.m. class with the 11 a.m. service or begin with worship alone. Because several prayer gatherings occur at midnight or online, participants should review the current conference-call details before joining rather than treating the street address as the meeting location.
