Grace Lutheran Church

About this church

Grace Lutheran Church in Columbia City gathers Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and livestreams the service. Sunday School follows at 11:15. Communion is central every week, and the congregation practices an open table regardless of age or denominational background; white grape juice is available as an alternative to wine. Children are welcome in worship. After a children’s sermon, those in third grade or younger may attend Children’s Church during the sermon and return before Communion. The church does not provide a staffed nursery.

Music changes through the church year. A traditional Chancel Choir and Bell Choir alternate during much of September through May, while a Rejoice Band leads on the last Sunday of many months with piano, drums, singers, and occasional trumpet, flute, or bass guitar within a continuing liturgical service. Grace identifies as an open and affirming ELCA congregation and describes its purpose as participating in God’s work with the community. Outreach resources include a local free medical clinic for uninsured and underinsured neighbors. For a first visit, expect weekly Communion, visible children’s participation, varying musical leadership, and Sunday School immediately after worship.
