First Baptist Church

About this church

First Baptist Church in Columbus is an American Baptist congregation that describes itself as a diverse, multigenerational family of faith. Its mission joins spiritual growth, worship, study, service, fellowship, and invitation. Chancel choir, praise team, handbells, drama, Communion, baptism, greeting, and audiovisual service all contribute to worship, while Christian education and mission ministries extend congregational life beyond the sanctuary.

Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m. in person and by livestream. A second hour of learning follows at 10:45. The homepage publishes the current Sunday message, Scripture, preacher, bulletin, video link, and engagement card, giving visitors an unusually clear preview before arrival. The mission ministry supports local and wider work through Love Chapel, Brighter Days, the SEEDS garden, ecumenical partnerships, and mission trips. The church’s belief page confirms affiliation with American Baptist Churches USA and its Indiana and Kentucky regional body. Because ministries for children, youth, music, adults, and pastoral care each maintain separate information, first-time households should use the current homepage and ministry directory rather than assuming every group meets during the 10:45 learning hour. Archived Sunday video remains available for those evaluating the service remotely.
