First Christian Church

About this church

First Christian Church of Columbus is an independent Christian church in Columbus, Indiana, seeking to grow devoted followers of Jesus who help others grow. Its shorthand—loving, transforming, and thriving—connects personal faith with changed homes, community service, and wider mission. Children’s ministry partners with parents in a safe, relationship-centered setting, while student ministry and mission projects offer next steps for older youth and adults. The Explore class explains what the congregation believes and what participation in an independent Christian church involves, making it a useful orientation before membership.

Services begin Sundays at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m.; both meet in person, and the 10:30 service also streams online. Programming for preschoolers through sixth grade is offered at both hours, while the nursery and toddler room are open at 10:30. Child check-in starts 15 minutes before worship. Guests may park in the small lot opposite the Lafayette Street entrance, where greeters at the Welcome Center can direct them to coffee, restrooms, children’s areas, and the Worship Center. A welcome luncheon ordinarily follows the second service on the last Sunday of the month and requires advance registration.
