Sovereign Grace Bible Church

About this church

Sovereign Grace Bible Church meets at 1500 North Main Street in Monticello. Sunday School and youth group begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the morning service at 10:30. Men's and women's Bible studies meet Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Children's classes are available for every age during both Sunday hours; families who prefer to remain together may keep children in the main service, where activity bags are available. Clothing ranges from Sunday dress to casual attire.

SGBC describes its mission as glorifying and enjoying God through preaching the Word, making disciples, and loving others. The 10:30 service centers on expository preaching, prayer for local and global needs, and Christ-focused songs and hymns drawn from different periods of church history. Visitors are not pressured to give. The congregation began with a few families meeting in homes and has developed ministries as the church has grown, while retaining an emphasis on biblical fellowship and service. For newcomers, the Sunday plan provides a clear choice: attend the 9:00 learning hour, arrive for 10:30 worship, or use both; children's options are available without making separation from parents mandatory.
