Saint Peter's United Church of Christ

About this church

Saint Peter's United Church of Christ in South Bend worships on Sunday at 11 a.m. at its building at the corner of Ironwood and Corby. The congregation belongs to the United Church of Christ and is a designated Open and Affirming congregation, a status it explains in a covenant posted on its homepage. The church describes its worship as a traditional, liturgical service with some contemporary elements. The nursery opens at 10:50 a.m., and a children's time is part of the service at about 11:15 a.m. Service times can change, so confirm them on the website before visiting.

An adult Bible study meets at 10 a.m. on Sundays ahead of worship, and children's Sunday school takes place during the service. Those who cannot attend in person can watch the service live on the church's YouTube channel each Sunday starting at 11 a.m., and past services are also available there. The church office is open by appointment during the week and from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Sundays, and the congregation also keeps a public Facebook page and a Facebook group. In the wider community, Saint Peter's supports the Northeast Neighborhood Council food pantry in South Bend. Its sanctuary can be rented for weddings by non-members, and The Hall at Saint Peter's serves as an event space for receptions.
