First Methodist Church

About this church

First Methodist Church at 3900 Loop Road in Monroe offers four regular indoor Sunday services: traditional worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. and contemporary worship at 9:00 and 11:00. Contemporary gatherings meet in the Fellowship Hall with the Sound Faith Praise Band and stream on the church website and YouTube. From April through October, weather permitting, an additional outdoor Worship on the Bayou service begins at 7:00 a.m. Nursery care for ages six weeks through four years is available during Sunday worship.

Wednesday evenings combine dinner at 5:00 with studies and age-group programs at 6:00. Current options include pastor-led Bible study, GriefShare, marriage and women's groups, college and young-adult study, RISE Youth for grades six through twelve, Kingdom Kids for PreK4 through fifth grade, and nursery care. The church also encourages Sunday School, Covenant Small Groups, and a quarterly Next Steps class for people exploring membership and the congregation's mission. Its varied schedule is well suited to visitors who want a choice between traditional liturgy, contemporary music, outdoor worship, or a midweek setting where a shared meal leads into learning and conversation.
