First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport opens classrooms for every age at 9:30 a.m.; sanctuary worship follows at 10:45 at 900 Jordan Street. The Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation uses traditional worship shaped by biblical preaching, choir and instrumental music, prayer, and the Reformed tradition. The Lord's Supper is shared on each month's first Sunday, and the service is streamed online. Clothing ranges from office-casual dress to suits, dresses, and khakis. Fellowship follows worship in the Gathering Area.

Parking is available behind the church along Stoner Avenue, beside the chapel, and in the neighboring office lot; the north-side entrance has an accessible walkway, information desk, and elevators. Children are welcome in the sanctuary with Bibles and activity bags. Nursery care serves infants through age two from 9:30 until noon, and younger children may attend Extended Session or the Montessori-inspired Worship Center after the children's moment. Elementary students use a rotation model with drama, cooking, science, art, and storytelling; grades six through twelve meet for Sunday School and evening youth group. Wednesday midday prayer and selected Taizé services provide quieter alternatives. Visitors should use the detailed floor guide if attending a classroom before worship.
