Christ Episcopal Church

About this church

Christ Episcopal Church in Rockville celebrates Holy Eucharist Sundays at 10 a.m. with traditional Episcopal prayers, hymns, a sermon, choir, and organ. The service also streams live on YouTube, where previous liturgies and sermons remain available. A quieter midweek service meets Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m. in the chapel. Sunday Communion includes regular and gluten-free wafers, with wine offered from a common cup. Lay members participate as readers, acolytes, ushers, and Eucharistic ministers, and some carry Communion to older parishioners. A bulletin and order of service are posted online, giving newcomers a practical preview of the liturgy before arriving.

Nursery care during the 10 a.m. service serves ages six months through four years and provides silent pagers. Preschoolers through fifth graders may attend Godly Play or Spark Kidz Sunday School, then rejoin caregivers at the Peace; classes meet most school-year Sundays, beginning with 9:45 drop-off. Regional youth ministry connects teenagers from Christ Church with two neighboring Episcopal parishes. Drivers can use the rear church lot, nearby streets, Rockville City Hall on Sundays, or additional event parking. Reserved easy-access spaces are along the side driveway. The official newcomer information does not explain which entrance is step-free, clothing expectations, service duration, hearing or sensory support, nursery volunteer screening, or whether a visitor must be baptized before receiving Communion.
