Luther Rice Memorial Baptist Church

About this church

Luther Rice Memorial Baptist Church is a Silver Spring congregation named for the nineteenth-century Baptist minister and missionary Luther Rice. Sunday worship begins at 11:00 a.m. and is offered both in person and online through Facebook and YouTube, with recordings available afterward. The church describes itself as Christ-centered, biblically grounded, and ethnically diverse, with discipleship, worship, and service joined in a shared life of faith.

The congregation meets at 801 University Boulevard West and invites visitors to send a digital connection or prayer-request card before or after worship. Its mission emphasis reaches beyond the Sunday service through support for international mission work and community ministries based at the church. The official site has highlighted food and clothing assistance among its local activities, while contact information gives newcomers a direct way to ask about current opportunities. Because some older pages remain online, visitors should use the current main site and its news page for the latest in-person arrangements rather than relying on archived pandemic-era notices.
