St Joseph's Catholic Church

About this church

Saint Joseph Catholic Church celebrates an anticipatory Mass at 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Masses at 8 and 10:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 915 Liberty Road in Sykesville. The 10:45 Sunday Mass is livestreamed. Daily Mass is offered at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and Saturday Reconciliation runs from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Low-gluten hosts are available. Coffee and doughnuts are scheduled twice monthly after the 8 a.m. Mass from September through June, with dates published in the bulletin.

The parish's stated vision is to be a spiritual, moral, and social center for Eldersburg and Sykesville through encounters with Jesus, expressed through the sacraments, the Gospel, and service. Small groups combine hospitality, prayer, conversation, and faith development. A particularly practical ministry is Carroll County Food Sunday: its pantry in the Chaminade Center distributes milk, eggs, meat, and shelf-stable food from 10 a.m. to noon each Wednesday. Volunteers who work with children or vulnerable people complete Archdiocesan training, and adults in covered roles register through the VIRTUS system. Weekday adoration is currently listed after Mass until noon during construction, so visitors should check current notices for changes to that temporary arrangement.
