This Episcopal parish was formed in 2008 through the merger of three congregations whose roots reach to 1835. Worship combines traditional and modern, structured and informal elements, drawing primarily from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer and Episcopal hymnals. Communion is open to visitors, gluten-free wafers are available, and the welcome explicitly includes LGBTQ and straight people, those in recovery, people from Catholic, Baptist, Episcopal, or no religious background, and households of different structures. Outreach has included meals, a thrift store, homeless and senior ministry, recovery meetings, and leadership development. The thrift store serves visitors Wednesday and Saturday between 10 a.m. and noon. A newcomer can enter from Rock or Purchase Street, follow the bulletin at a comfortable level, receive Communion, and stay for an easy post-service introduction.
