First Baptist Church Norwood

About this church

First Baptist Church Norwood gathers Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at 71 Bond Street. Its visitor page encourages guests to come as they are and describes a Christ-centered service of prayer, biblical teaching, contemporary worship, and traditional hymns, followed by time for fellowship. Parking is available behind the church from Bond Street, while a designated first-time guest lot is entered from Walpole Street. The congregation summarizes its direction as growing in love for Christ and neighbors while joining Jesus in transforming lives and communities through the good news. Published beliefs affirm historic Christian teaching, biblical authority, salvation through Jesus, the Trinity, the church, baptism, Communion, resurrection, and eternal life.

Children begin in the main gathering so they can participate in congregational worship, then leave partway through for Kids Ministry. That program serves kindergarten through fifth grade with teachers who help children understand God, Jesus, and their place in church life. The connect page emphasizes that discipleship extends beyond weekly attendance through relationships, spiritual gifts, prayer, groups, and service; online prayer requests are assigned to at least one elder. The website does not specify the service's usual length, an accessible entrance, nursery care for younger children, check-in security, teacher screening, hearing or sensory assistance, Communion frequency, or livestream access. A parent or visitor requiring one of these accommodations can request current guidance through the church's published contact information.
