First Congregational Church of Norwood

About this church

First Congregational Church of Norwood follows a seasonal Sunday schedule at 100 Winter Street. Summer worship meets at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel; the church publishes a return to 10 a.m. sanctuary worship and Sunday School on September 13. Services are livestreamed for remote participants. The visitor page notes an accessible building and a fragrance-free balcony area, practical details for people planning around mobility, allergies, or sensory needs. Guests should use the live worship page around the September transition rather than assume the same hour year-round.

The congregation belongs to the United Church of Christ and describes itself as open and affirming, welcoming people across sexual orientation, gender identity, race, background, family structure, ability, and stage of faith. Children and families participate in worship, Sunday School, seasonal programs, and service, while youth opportunities follow the active program calendar. Outreach includes food, housing, school, refugee, and community partnerships. Stephen Ministry trains lay caregivers to accompany people through grief, illness, transition, or other difficult seasons. Worship, music, fellowship, learning, and hands-on service create several entry points beyond Sunday attendance. During the current summer period, visitors should plan for the 9:30 chapel service; after the published September restart, they should confirm the 10 a.m. schedule and Sunday School details.
