First Presbyterian Church

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Flint gathers Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in its historic downtown sanctuary at 746 South Saginaw Street, with the liturgy livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube. The published summer schedule also includes a free Neighborhood Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. in the parish hall, and Communion is served every week. Worship is described as vibrant, creative, intergenerational, and participatory, led by pastors, lay liturgists, and the Chancel Choir while remaining rooted in Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) tradition. Nursery and toddler care is provided by trained professional caregivers.

The congregation’s mission is to invite, worship, nurture, and serve in downtown Flint as people engaged by Christ’s love. Children, middle- and high-school students, women, and adults have dedicated faith-formation opportunities. Community ministry includes one-on-one help and referrals for food, clothing, personal-care items, and household goods, along with relationships with shelters, schools, counseling, and other local mission partners. The Sunday breakfast and weekly Communion make the morning rhythm especially distinctive: people can share a meal before entering a sacramental service in the sanctuary. Because the website labels the published timetable as a summer schedule, visitors should verify seasonal worship and breakfast times before coming.
