St. Charles Catholic Church

About this church

St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville celebrates Sunday Mass at 11 a.m., with weekday Mass Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. Monday begins with Morning Prayer at 9 rather than Mass. Eucharistic Adoration with exposition is published for Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Reconciliation is offered Wednesday from 8 to 9 p.m. The parish belongs to a shared Catholic community with St. Joseph and St. Mary, so visitors should distinguish the Greenville schedule and Lafayette Street address from services at the two Belding churches.

The congregation describes the Eucharist as the source and summit of its faith and connects worship with discipleship, small groups, community service, and fellowship across generations. Its Greenville roots reach to a Mass celebrated for five families in a private home in 1859. St. Charles was organized under its present patron in 1875; after the former church was destroyed by fire in 1994, the current building was dedicated in 1997. Parish activity includes faith formation, Bible studies, liturgical service, a community-kitchen meal, and support for people facing hunger. Because certain weekday Masses move to local care communities on alternating months, guests should check the newest calendar before attending outside Sunday.
