Calvary Lutheran Church

About this church

Calvary Lutheran Church in Bemidji follows a seasonal schedule. From May through August, traditional Sunday worship with weekly Communion begins at 9:00 a.m., streams online, and is followed by coffee. Beginning with September's Rally Sunday, traditional worship remains at 9:00, a half-hour Connections service begins at 10:30, and both Sunday School and an intimate acoustic service begin at 11:00. Tuesday acoustic contemporary worship is currently listed at 6:00 p.m.

The ELCA congregation extends an unconditional welcome and provides accessibility accommodations for varied needs. School-year Calvary Alive begins Wednesday with a 5:30 meal and 6:15 worship, followed by confirmation and high-school youth programming on most weeks. The church describes itself as intergenerational, saved by grace through faith, and committed to serving neighbors through homeless-shelter partnerships, local work, and summer mission trips. Because late August and early September use different Sunday rhythms, visitors should check whether Rally Sunday has occurred before relying on the program-year options.
