Columbus First Methodist

About this church

Columbus First Methodist offers two distinct Sunday services at its Main Street campus: contemporary worship at 8:45 a.m. in Artz Fellowship Hall and traditional worship at 11:00 in the sanctuary. Each lasts about an hour, with coffee and doughnuts beforehand. The contemporary hour uses modern worship songs and a more informal presentation, while the traditional service includes historic hymns and liturgical prayers. Parking near Sixth Street is most convenient for the contemporary venue; the Trustmark Bank lot beside the church is suggested for sanctuary worship.

Nursery care for infants through 4K is available at both services. During the 8:45 service, children in 5K through second grade may leave after the children's moment for Children's Church, and Sunday School for all ages follows at 10:00. Wednesday children's activities combine choirs and small groups, while students have Sunday School, Sunday-night Fusion, and grade-and-gender small groups on Wednesdays. The congregation supports quarterly local projects and ongoing international partnerships in the Dominican Republic and India. Visitors can therefore choose not only a time but a clearly different worship environment, with the 10:00 education hour forming a bridge between them.
