First Presbyterian Church of Oxford

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Oxford is a historic Presbyterian congregation founded in 1837 and shaped by worship, education, fellowship, outreach, and a welcome for people from varied backgrounds and perspectives. Its stated mission is to know and share the love of Jesus Christ, support people through their faith journeys, and serve as Christ’s hands and feet in Oxford and beyond. Children and teenagers are treated as present participants in congregational life, not simply its future.

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by in-person worship at 10:00; the YouTube livestream starts at 9:55. Communion is normally celebrated on the first Sunday monthly and at selected Christmas, Easter, and World Communion Sunday services. Nursery care for children six weeks through age three runs 8:45–11:00 with background-checked workers. Pre-K4 through fifth grade meets 9:00–9:45 upstairs in the Education Building, while youth gather downstairs at the same hour. Sunday-evening youth fellowship divides grades six through eight from 5:00–6:30 and grades nine through twelve from 6:00–7:30. Public pages do not specify worship length, dress, parking, accessibility, child check-in, secure pickup, worship music, or whether nursery care extends to special services.
