First Baptist Church of Sedalia

About this church

First Baptist Church of Sedalia begins Sunday School for children, youth, and adults at 9:00 a.m., followed by worship and livestream at 10:15. Childcare during worship serves newborns through age three with Bible stories and activities. During the school year, AWANA meets Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for age two through fifth grade, using Scripture memory to help children build a biblical framework for daily decisions. The church summarizes its identity as loving God through his Word in ways demonstrated by love for other people.

Students in grades seven through twelve study the Bible, practice interpretation, serve locally, and build relationships through dinners, bonfires, movie nights, and other events. Recent youth mission trips have taken teams to communities in Louisiana, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida for practical and spiritual service. Small groups, men's and women's ministries, and a Sunday-night theology gathering create adult learning options beyond the morning service. For families comparing Sedalia churches, First Baptist publishes the full sequence from nursery through high school: simultaneous Sunday education, one shared worship hour, weekday Scripture memory for younger children, and discipleship and mission experiences for teenagers.
