Our Lady of Czestochowa

About this church

Our Lady of Czestochowa Church is a Roman Catholic parish at 120 Kosciusko Avenue in South Plainfield, dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa and Our Lady of La Vang and serving a multicultural congregation. Weekend Masses are Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (vigil) and Sunday at 8 and 10:30 a.m., with a 1 p.m. Sunday Mass in Vietnamese. Weekday Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. On holy days of obligation, Masses are offered at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. in English and at 8 p.m. in Vietnamese. Confession is heard Saturdays at 4 p.m. or by appointment. Check the weekly bulletin or website for schedule changes.

Eucharistic adoration follows the 9 a.m. Mass on first Fridays, and a novena to St. Catherine Labouré is prayed after Tuesday morning Mass. The parish runs a religious education (CCD) program on Wednesday evenings during the school year, preparing children for reconciliation, first Eucharist and confirmation. Baptisms are generally scheduled on the second Saturday of the month, and couples planning a wedding should contact a priest a year in advance and complete a preparation class. The sick and homebound can call to arrange Communion or anointing. The parish also has a Rosary Altar Society, and Holy Savior Academy, a nearby K-8 Catholic school, serves families. New parishioners can register with a form found in the church vestibule or at the parish office.
