Church of the Holy Spirit

About this church

Church of the Holy Spirit is an Episcopal parish in Verona combining quiet and choral Eucharist with children’s formation, prayer, local assistance, and community events. The morning schedule gives worshipers a choice between an early contemplative service and a later liturgy with choir. Sunday School follows a September-through-June calendar, while the parish food pantry serves Essex County households and arranges home delivery for Verona and Cedar Grove residents who cannot shop in person. Monthly Centering Prayer adds Scripture-based contemplative practice.

Sunday begins with quiet Eucharist at 8:00 a.m., also available on Zoom. Choir rehearsal runs at 9:00 from September through June, followed by choral Eucharist and Sunday School at 10:00; that service is available on Zoom and Facebook. The first Sunday School classes of the 2026–27 year are announced for September 13, so summer visitors should not expect the school-year program. The food pantry normally opens on the fourth Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with identification required for Essex County shoppers; August’s published date is August 22. Centering Prayer meets on an announced Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30. The church office supplies the Zoom passcode, so online visitors should request access before Sunday morning.
