Ghana Calvary United Methodist Church

About this church

Ghana Calvary United Methodist Church worships at 26 Montrose Avenue in Verona. Its website offers recorded sermons and a worship-and-study invitation but does not expose a current weekly hour in readable text, so first-time visitors should confirm Sunday timing directly rather than rely on the directory's generic listing. The church describes itself as a place to connect, feel loved, and find spiritual nourishment. Its mission joins prayer, worship, fellowship, Bible teaching, community service, disciple-making, and outreach to people who are not currently connected to a church.

The congregation's detailed history begins with Ghanaian Methodists meeting in New Jersey homes during 2006 for prayer, Scripture study, food, and planning. Those gatherings were modeled after Wesleyan class or cell groups and created a strong sense of shared voice and belonging. The congregation held its first Sunday service on October 1, 2006, having decided from the outset to become part of the United Methodist Church. Its motto is `Oneness and Peace in Christ.` An annual Harvest and Thanksgiving tradition began that December after a week of teaching and prayer, with worship expressed through giving, singing, dancing, and a community meal. The event reflects a distinctly Ghanaian Methodist identity within the wider United Methodist connection.
