First Baptist Church of Horseheads

About this church

First Baptist Church of Horseheads is a congregation whose mission is to know Christ and make him known through worship, biblical teaching, relationships, family ministry, service, and global mission. Children’s ministry intentionally partners with parents from birth through sixth grade, while PluggedIn youth, Adult Bible Fellowship, Life Groups, Operation Christmas Child, and other ministries create age-specific opportunities throughout the year.

Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowship begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship and Kids Town at 10:45. Nursery care is available during all Sunday classes and regular services, with trained, screened volunteers. Toddlerville serves ages two through four during both Sunday School and worship. Kids Town combines large-group Bible lessons, praise, skits, and object lessons with smaller groups for prayer and relationships. PluggedIn youth meets Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., and Life Groups meet on various weeknights from September through June. The children’s pages use sixth grade as the full ministry range but Kids Town descriptions do not always specify the upper grade on every page, so parents should confirm placement for older elementary children. The corrected name adds Horseheads to distinguish this congregation from the many First Baptist listings nationwide.
