New Hempstead Presbyterian Church

About this church

New Hempstead Presbyterian Church follows a seasonal Sunday schedule at 484 New Hempstead Road in New City. Summer worship begins at 10 a.m., while the fall and winter service moves to 11. People can attend in the sanctuary or join on YouTube, where recent services are also available. The summer change normally begins around Father's Day, and the choir pauses during that season; individual musicians from the congregation may contribute until regular choir programming returns.

The Presbyterian congregation says it worships joyfully, cares for people with love and respect, and works for peace and justice beyond its walls. Local service includes hunger relief, help for people experiencing homelessness, support for children with special needs, Thanksgiving food baskets, and a spring neighborhood cleanup with Keep Rockland Beautiful. Murchison Hall extends that community role by hosting nonprofit and neighborhood organizations, including twelve-step programs, daycare and senior programs, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and other congregations. The church also participates in four annual PC(USA) campaigns addressing denominational needs, global work, and humanitarian crises. A newcomer should first check which seasonal worship hour is active, then choose between the sanctuary and YouTube; the official worship page is the most precise source when the choir or streaming schedule changes.
