The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Palmyra

About this church

Palmyra, New York counts two meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the directory, and this one, at 2801 Temple Rd, sits about three-tenths of a mile from the other. Accessible parking, an accessible entrance, and an accessible restroom are all provided.

Two congregations use the building on Sundays: the Palmyra Ward at 10 a.m. and the Palmyra YSA Branch at 1:30 p.m. The first hour of each block holds sacrament meeting, hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks by congregation members, and classes follow, Primary among them. There's no fee to visit, and no plate is passed. Two congregations sharing one building at different hours reflects how wards and branches are organized locally. Local schedules do shift from year to year, so a quick call ahead of that first visit is sensible.
