Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church

About this church

Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clinton begins Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and traditional worship at 11:00. Classes serve children, middle- and high-school students, and adults; coffee fellowship fills the interval before worship. Nursery care for newborns through kindergarten is available from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Lord's Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and is open to professing Christians regardless of denomination. Sunday School can be joined by Zoom, and worship is also carried on Facebook Live.

Children remain visibly part of the main gathering through a children's message. Afterward, younger children may join Worship Readiness, use an activity-equipped Banner Room with a parent, or go to the nursery. The congregation was organized in 1831, survived two church-building fires and several name changes, and entered the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1983. Its current mission emphasizes Christ's love in word and deed, welcome across cultures and generations, and care for people who are poor, sick, lonely, or powerless. This is a historically rooted PC(USA) church with unusually detailed, flexible provisions for children in traditional worship.
