Hickory Grove Baptist Church

About this church

Hickory Grove Baptist Church is a Clinton congregation constituted in 1889 as Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Its ministries connect Sunday worship and Bible teaching with children, youth, adult groups, music, and mission. Local service includes food and backpack assistance and other community projects, while the church’s long history gives the congregation a distinct Sampson County identity beyond a generic Baptist listing.

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. and is livestreamed on Facebook. Nursery through second-grade children may be dismissed during the offering, and kindergarten through fifth grade participate in mission and music activities on alternating Sunday evenings. Wednesday begins with a family supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by adult Bible study and children’s classes at 7:00. Youth meet on Wednesday and Sunday evenings; the youth page references a 6:00 supper or accountability time, but does not make every day-and-time pairing fully clear, so families should confirm the current calendar. The Sunday schedule is straightforward for a first visit, while the midweek sequence lets households eat together before separating into adult and children’s study. Visitors interested in the church’s community role can also review its documented history and mission work before attending.
