Ascension Lutheran Church

About this church

Ascension Lutheran Church begins Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and worship at 11:00 in Shelby, with the service also streamed on YouTube. Confirmation meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. The congregation describes mission as recognizing where God is already active in people’s lives and communities and joining that work through worship, learning, and service.

Worship participation includes altar guild, assisting ministers, Communion assistants, acolytes, readers, and ushers. Women of the ELCA welcomes all women to serve locally and beyond, with details shared through weekly email and the bulletin. A first-time guest can arrive before 10:00 for education or shortly before 11:00 for worship; remote participants can use the archived or live service. Families should confirm current Sunday School and confirmation calendars. People interested in liturgical service can review the worship roles, while women seeking a service community should check the latest WELCA notice rather than assuming a fixed weekly meeting.
