St. Nicholas Orthodox Church

About this church

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church celebrates Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Sunday at 2053 North Road NE in Warren. Divine Liturgy for feast days is normally published at 9 a.m., while the parish schedule also lists Wednesday and Friday gatherings at 6 p.m. Orthodox worship centers on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and uses a rich pattern of prayer, Scripture, chant, and sacrament. Visitors unfamiliar with that form can expect a service shaped less like a presentation and more like the shared prayer of the whole church.

The Holy Eucharist stands at the center of parish life, with other sacraments, special services, and blessings connecting Christian faith to the needs and events of daily life. St. Nicholas also publishes Orthodox Bible-study classes and a Good Samaritan outreach calendar for community dinners and service events. Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Academy and Preschool is closely connected with the parish, adding a weekday education ministry to the church's public presence. A first-time guest can begin with Sunday Divine Liturgy, then use the worship resources on the official site to understand Orthodox practice more fully; anyone planning around a feast day should verify that day's hour on the parish calendar.
