Edgeboro Moravian Church

About this church

Edgeboro Moravian Church worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Bethlehem. Music is central to Moravian spiritual life, and the congregation welcomes people with a wide range of musical experience into singing and instrumental service. Holy Communion is celebrated regularly; baptized Christians from any church are invited to receive. Baptisms are held within congregational worship, reflecting the church's view that Christian initiation belongs in the gathered community. Livestreams and previous services are available through the church's YouTube and Facebook pages for anyone wanting to become familiar with its worship first.

The church year brings several traditions rarely explained on a directory page. Each Wednesday in Lent combines a small service with dinner, and Holy Week includes daily gatherings leading to Easter sunrise worship with other Bethlehem-area Moravian congregations. At Christmas, Edgeboro builds a “putz,” a detailed depiction of Jesus' birth, and makes its own candles for three Christmas Eve services; two include the Moravian lovefeast. The congregation's mission is to love God, grow in Christ, and share the Holy Spirit through worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism. Visitors interested in music, sacramental community, and Bethlehem's Moravian heritage will find all three here.
