Beverly Hills Peace Community Church

About this church

Beverly Hills Peace Community Church is a Christian congregation at 500 Midvale Road in the Beverly Hills section of Upper Darby. Sunday worship begins at 11 a.m. Eastern and can be joined in person or remotely. The church serves a notably multicultural area just outside Philadelphia and describes its aspiration as letting love and care shine through daily life with Jesus Christ. Its public message connects the gospel with learning, service, grace, and reaching beyond the congregation into the surrounding community.

The church carried the name Beverly Hills Presbyterian until 2021, but its roots extend much farther back. It began as Tenth United Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia in 1863, moved to Upper Darby in 1928, and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2013. Historical material recalls global mission relationships in Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia, while noting that today's neighborhood brings many cultures and more than 80 languages and dialects close to the church's door. Visitors should use the current Peace Community name and 11 a.m. schedule rather than older Presbyterian listings. The official calendar and events archive are the best places to identify special services or community activities beyond the regular Sunday gathering.
