Church of the Loving Shepherd

About this church

Church of the Loving Shepherd gathers Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in a historic stone barn on a rural West Chester campus, with a Zoom option for people joining remotely. Worship brings together silent meditation, music, prayer, and an inspirational teaching. The community is rooted in Christianity while explicitly making room for different backgrounds, beliefs, and stages of faith. Holy Communion is observed on the first Sunday of the month, and the last Sunday includes healing and prayer; a separate centering-prayer gathering is held that day in the stone-grotto meditation room.

The setting is part of the experience: the property includes a pond, open fields, and an outdoor labyrinth, giving visitors space for reflection beyond the barn. A short prayer gathering also meets on Zoom Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. Community service includes a monthly food ministry in which volunteers pack produce and nonperishable goods from a food bank and deliver them to local families. Parents of young children can find family-specific information on the official site, but should ask about the current Sunday arrangements before relying on childcare. For people seeking a contemplative, inclusive Christian community rather than a conventional auditorium service, Loving Shepherd presents a notably distinctive option.
