Eastminster Presbyterian Church

About this church

Eastminster Presbyterian Church holds a livestreamed service at 10 a.m. Sunday at 311 Haines Road in York. Middle- and high-school students meet from 9 to 10 in the Education Wing, while nursery care and Sunday School for prekindergarten through sixth grade run during worship. Friendship Time and adult Bible study normally follow at 11, although Christian-education classes pause during summer. Greeters help first-time visitors locate the nursery, restrooms, sanctuary, and Haines House fellowship space.

The congregation has served East York for more than sixty years and welcomes families of varied configurations and generations. Music includes regular choral and instrumental participation plus occasional Celtic and jazz worship. Its Mission Committee coordinates hands-on service and giving with deacons and Presbyterian Women, supporting food programs, shelters, children's services, community health, Habitat for Humanity, disaster response, schools, and global missionaries. Eastminster also offers one-to-one Stephen Ministry for people experiencing grief, separation, hospitalization, job loss, illness, disability, loneliness, relocation, retirement, caregiving pressure, or spiritual distress. These lay caregivers complete fifty hours of training and listen without presenting themselves as therapists or problem solvers. Visitors seeking Sunday education should confirm whether the church is operating its school-year or summer schedule.
