First Presbyterian Church of York

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of York is a downtown congregation offering traditional and contemporary worship, children and youth, music, education, and mission. The traditional service uses the sanctuary organ and regularly includes Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, a children’s blessing, and a “Wiggle and Rock” area for quiet activities. Contemporary worship meets in Café 225, creating a deliberately different setting within the same church.

The current homepage lists traditional worship Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and contemporary worship at 12:30 p.m.; services are livestreamed. Nursery care for children from birth through age five is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Godly Play for kindergarten through fourth grade meets from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., while junior- and senior-high Sunday School runs from 9:40 to 10:30. An older plan-your-visit page still displays previous 8:30, 10:45, and noon service references alongside useful entrance guidance. This profile uses the newer homepage times and preserves that conflict so visitors are not sent to a superseded hour. Clothing ranges from jeans to more formal choices, with especially casual dress common at contemporary worship.
