About this church
Hayshire United Church of Christ worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in its sanctuary and through Zoom video or telephone. The roughly one-hour service is traditional but relaxed, pairing classic hymns with some contemporary choir music and current, Scripture-based sermons. Children and teenagers contribute through music, readings, acolyte service, children's messages, and Faith Time. Greeters at entrances from both parking lots provide a bulletin, and worshipers may sit anywhere; pews on the left have the clearest view of projected hymn lyrics. Communion is open to everyone present, from children and first-time guests to long-standing members.
Faith Time invites children of varied ages out after the children's message twice each month for an interactive lesson. A west-hall nursery serves ages one through six during worship and is staffed by two adults with Pennsylvania-required background clearances. The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 7 p.m., except during the summer schedule, and a monthly book club discusses fiction, biography, and inspirational works. Hayshire identifies as Open and Affirming, explicitly welcoming people across race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, class, and creed. Outreach and congregational ministries organize service beyond Sunday. Parking lots are accessible from Hayshire and Haybrook Drives, with designated accessible spaces in both. The visitor guide does not mention hearing-assistance devices, secure nursery pickup, or a typical livestream recording archive.
