Mount Zion Lutheran Church

About this church

Mount Zion Lutheran Church is a York congregation of the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It affirms Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions while bringing together tradition and change in a suburban-rural community. The congregation traces its story to home gatherings among local farmers in 1844 and plans to mark its 175th anniversary in October 2026. Its mission joins proclaiming the gospel with meeting spiritual and human needs through members' gifts, talents, and love in Christ. Music, faith formation, community partnerships, and pastoral care support that work.

Sunday liturgical worship with Holy Communion begins at 10:30 a.m. and is shared through Facebook Live, with services later posted to YouTube. Wednesday adult Bible study meets at 12:30 and 6:00 p.m. Coffee and Catch-up is scheduled to resume in September from 9:30 to 10:10 on the last Sunday of each month. A generic visit form still offers 9:00 and 11:00 selections, but the homepage carries an August 2026 bulletin and clearly identifies 10:30 as the current service, so the form choices should not override it. Weather cancellations are announced on the website, Facebook, telephone line, and local radio.
