First Christian Church

About this church

First Christian Church in Johnson City holds identical Sunday services at 8:15, 9:45, and 11:15 a.m. Each gathering includes singing, biblical teaching, giving, and Communion, and the 11:15 service offers Spanish interpretation. The church also publishes a Thursday service at 7:00 p.m. during its current construction season, beginning in May 2026. Nursery care is available at every Sunday hour, while the mix of children’s classes and worship programming varies by service.

The congregation summarizes its purpose as helping people follow Jesus. Its Restoration Movement practice includes weekly Communion and teaches baptism by immersion following a confession of faith, while welcoming people who are still exploring belief. Children from preschool through fifth grade can also join KidVenture on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Local and international mission partnerships give adults and families routes into service beyond the church campus. First Christian is at 200 East Mountcastle Drive. Visitors who need Spanish interpretation should choose 11:15; families should check the current children’s schedule to see which hour best fits each age. Because construction can affect entrances, rooms, and the temporary Thursday gathering, review the church’s latest arrival information before a first visit.
