South Woods Baptist Church

About this church

South Woods Baptist Church is a Reformed Southern Baptist congregation on South Germantown Road in Memphis. Its stated purpose is to make disciples who joyfully serve Christ together in ministry and missions, shaping its sermons, music, children’s catechesis, student work, small groups, community outreach, and global mission. Sunday Bible classes begin at 9 a.m. and corporate worship at 10:15. A midweek study meets Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Sermon archives, Bible-study audio, and a smartphone app provide ways to explore teaching before visiting. Office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The church grounds sit near the Germantown suburb, and the visitor form lets newcomers ask questions or join a weekly email update. The site describes a congregation centered on Scripture, unity, shared service, and multiplication. Its formal statement is the historic Abstract of Principles, alongside the Baptist Faith and Message, teaching the Trinity, biblical authority, salvation through Christ, progressive sanctification, believer’s baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper. One sentence on the location page also invites people to Sunday gatherings at 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m., but the persistent site schedule omits the 6 p.m. service; confirm before planning an evening visit. Public pages do not specify service length, music style, dress, parking, accessibility, nursery care, child check-in, volunteer screening, Communion frequency, or livestream availability.
