First Baptist Church

About this church

First Baptist Church of Corsicana is a historic Baptist congregation seeking to love people where they are through biblical worship, study, and ministry. Its history traces organized Baptist work in Corsicana to 1848, when a small group gathered as United Baptist Church in the community’s one-room courthouse. Today the church presents Jesus as life-changing and combines two Sunday worship hours with Bible study, children’s and student ministries, music, and midweek formation.

Sunday worship begins at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m., with Bible study at 9:45 between the services. The early service is choir-led, while the church identifies a separate team for the 11:00 gathering. A Wednesday midweek study begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by choir rehearsal at 7:00. First-time guests can review recent services online and use the directions page for the West Collin Street campus. The church describes its atmosphere as friendly, with music and Bible-based messages central to worship. Its public schedule also includes weekday children’s programming during the school year, but that program follows the Corsicana school calendar and should not be confused with Sunday ministry. Visitors planning around holidays or leadership transitions should confirm the current worship guide, since dated announcements may supplement the standing schedule.
