First Methodist Of Forney

About this church

First Methodist of Forney offers two distinct Sunday services at 414 West Broad Street: contemporary worship at 8:30 a.m. and traditional worship at 11:00. Between them, fellowship begins at 9:30 and Sunday School at 9:45, making it possible to combine worship with an age-based class. The children's ministry serves infants through sixth grade; its Sunday nursery welcomes children through age four, and children ages four through second grade may attend children's church after the children's sermon. First-time families check children in at the Student Building and use published security procedures.

The week continues with a September-to-April Wednesday program. Kindergarten through sixth grade can join choir and handchimes at 5:15 p.m., followed by a congregational dinner at 6:00 and children's Bible activities at 6:30. Junior- and senior-high students meet Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 during the same seasonal window, with their own Wednesday gathering after dinner. The church also operates a Bible-based preschool for ages one through five, using stories, centers, music, art, outdoor learning, and kindergarten preparation. Forney's combination of contemporary and traditional worship, a true education hour, and coordinated weekday programming makes the schedule especially practical for households with children or teenagers.
