East Side Baptist Church meets at 500 North W. S. Young Drive in Killeen. The congregation began in 1924 as Brookhaven Missionary Baptist Church with twenty-four members. When Brookhaven was absorbed into the Fort Hood reservation, the church moved to Killeen, adopted the East Side name, and eventually built on W. S. Young Drive. Its purpose remains evangelistic: share the gospel, make disciples, and train people for Christian leadership and daily living. Women on Mission connects the church with Southern Baptist missionary prayer, education, giving, and local action. Deacons assist with spiritual care, funerals, prayer, and Bible study, and bring the Lord's Supper to members who cannot attend. That combination of military-area history, prepared first visits, and homebound care gives East Side a distinctive local profile.
