Melissa United Methodist Church

About this church

Melissa United Methodist Church worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. at 3851 McKinney Street, with coffee served beforehand and online worship for remote guests. The service combines music, prayer, Scripture, and a message connecting faith with everyday life; clothing ranges from jeans to dresses. At 11:00, Bible studies and groups for different ages provide a natural second hour after worship.

Children begin in the sanctuary for two songs and a children’s message, then may move to Children’s Chapel. MUMC Kids serves prekindergarten through fifth grade with secure check-in and pickup, trained and screened volunteers, allergy notes, a worship prayground, and age-appropriate rooms. Students in grades six through twelve gather Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for worship, dinner, games, and small groups, then may join Wednesday Bible study from 7:00 to 8:30. The church describes itself as real people navigating the mess of life while building relationships in schools, neighborhoods, parks, and other community spaces. For a first-time household, the coffee, shared opening worship, children’s transition, 11:00 groups, and two student schedules lay out an unusually complete Sunday-to-midweek pathway.
