About this church
Harvey Baptist Church holds Sunday worship at 8:30 and 11 a.m., with small groups between services at 9:45. A typical service lasts about 70 minutes and mixes contemporary and traditional music led by a worship team with expositional, verse-by-verse preaching. Child care and age-based activities are available, and guests are encouraged to stay afterward for conversation. Worship can be watched live, while sermon archives and mobile or streaming apps make it possible to preview the church from home. Harvey's shorthand—expositional preaching, generational discipleship, and a family on mission—captures the emphasis visitors will encounter.
Children's Sunday small groups run from roughly 9:40 to 10:40, with teachers and staff trained and verified through MinistrySafe. During the school year, preschoolers through sixth graders meet Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 for TeamKID Bible verses, activities, and games. Junior- and senior-high students follow the same Sunday and Wednesday hours, adding worship, snacks, biblical study, and small-group connection. Adults meet Wednesdays at 6:30 for Bible study and prayer. Founded in 1904 after revival meetings in the Johnson Community, Harvey has supported Texas Baptist and Southern Baptist missions, work with Native American communities in New Mexico, local Victory in the Ville projects, and long-term Gateway East Africa service. The official visitor pages do not specify attire, parking, accessible entrances, Communion, nursery ages or check-in, paging, or assistive listening.
